Do you provide quotes before starting work?
3
Yes absolutely. Where the scope of work can be assessed in advance, we’ll provide a clear quote before commencing the work, so you know what to expect. For emergency plumbing or situations where the issue needs to be investigated first, we’ll explain the options and any applicable costs before proceeding with additional work.
If you have a burst pipe, major leak, overflowing toilet or another plumbing emergency, the first step is to turn off your water supply if it is safe to do so. This can help minimise water damage while you arrange professional assistance.
If water is near electrical outlets, appliances or wiring, do not enter the affected area and switch off the electricity at the main switch only if it is safe to do so.
Once the immediate risk is under control, contact a qualified emergency plumber. Avoid attempting repairs yourself if you're unsure of the cause, as this can make the problem worse or create additional damage.
We go into more detail about what to do before we arrive - here.
What should I do in a plumbing emergency?
4
A plumbing emergency is generally any issue which could cause significant water damage, create a health or safety risk, or leave your home or business without essential plumbing services.
This can include burst or major leaking pipes, overflowing toilets, sewer or wastewater issues, serious blocked drains or hot water emergencies, or water which cannot be shut off.
If you're unsure, it's always better to get professional advice instead of risking further damage. Our team can assess the situation and help determine the safest and most appropriate next step.
What is considered a plumbing emergency?
5
How quickly can an emergency plumber attend?
6
We’re based in Booval, so we can respond quickly to plumbing emergencies across Ipswich and the surrounding Western Corridor. In most situations, we can typically arrive within a few hours, depending on the nature of the emergency, our current workload and your location.
When you call, we’ll let you know straight away of our expected arrival time and keep you updated if anything changes.
HOW DO I KNOW I HAVE A BLOCKED DRAIN?
7
Slow-draining sinks, toilets that don't flush properly, unpleasant smells and water backing up through another drain can all be signs of a blockage. If multiple drains in your home are affected, the blockage may be further down the main drainage line and should be assessed by our team.
If a pipe is slow to empty, keeps backing up or is starting to affect other drains in your home, it’s a good idea to call a plumber before the problem gets worse.
Signs you may have a more serious blockage include water backing up, unpleasant smells, gurgling sounds, overflowing drains or multiple blocked fixtures at once. These can indicate a blockage further along the drainage system rather than a simple sink or shower blockage.
If you’ve tried a basic fix and the blockage keeps coming back, a professional plumber can identify the cause and clear it properly, which will help prevent further damage and repeat blockages.
When should I call a plumber for a blocked drain?

How do I know if my hot water system needs repairing or replacing?
9
Well it really depends on the age, condition, type of hot water system, as well as what’s causing the problem.
If your system is leaking, producing inconsistent or no hot water, making unusual noises, or your hot water is running out much faster than usual, it may need professional attention. Some issues can be repaired relatively easily, while may be more economical to replace an older or heavily damaged system.
Our team can assess your hot water system, explain what’s causing the problem and talk you through your repair or replacement options so you can make an informed decision.
Do you repair and replace hot water systems?
10
Yes. We repair and can replace hot water systems for homes and businesses if necessary, with the primary focus on helping you get hot water back up and running for you as quickly as possible.
If your system is faulty or reaching the end of its life, we can assess the issue and recommend the most suitable repair or replacement option with you.
How much does a plumber cost?
11
The cost of plumbing work depends on the type of job, how complex the issue is and whether it’s a standard service or an emergency call-out. Every job is different, so we’ll assess what’s required and explain the costs before proceeding.
For larger or planned works, we can provide a clear quote upfront. For emergency plumbing, we’ll let you know the applicable call-out and service costs and always keep you informed as the job progresses.
How often should I have my plumbing checked?
12
There’s no one-size-fits-all schedule, but regular plumbing checks can help catch small issues before they turn into expensive repairs.
For most homes, it’s a good idea to have your plumbing checked every 1–2 years, particularly if you live in an older property or have experienced recurring leaks, blocked drains or hot water issues.
If you notice low water pressure, damp spots, unusual smells, slow drains or unexplained increases in your water bill, it’s worth having a plumber take a look sooner.
